Missing pics, tired muscles and loving it

Headed out to take some more pics on the course of Darren Clarke, John Daly, Phil Mickelson and others only to find out later that these pics had disappeared, no great concern, will get some more tomorrow.

Then off to the front of the clubhouse to meet up with the Lyles before hit off time.

I heard a voice say hi Ray and it was Mick Mulligan. The former Notre Dame school teacher has been on holidays in Europe and was here to watch Jarrod play. Also on the course found Brendan and Marg Carroll of Shepparton and David James. David is an old friend of Jarrod and is now working in London but originally from Kyabram.

We all headed to the first tee and it was obvious that Jarrod was a little nervous. His name was called and he nailed a drive down the centre and gave a big sigh of relief when he saw where it went.

Jarrod ended up shooting a 74, 2 over par.

He birdied the last hole for a good finish. He was a little disappointed with a couple of shots that he played but overall it was a solid round. At this stage he is only two shots off the projected cut.

The cut is 70th place plus those tied on that mark. He will need to make a few early birdies tomorrow to have a chance of making it in his first major.

I'm very tired and very stiff from carrying all the camera gear and starting to feel a little home sick.

It is hard not being able to ring people when you feel like it. I have a phone card that I can use to ring back home when I need to but finding a public phone is not that easy so have been using my mobile instead. Cant wait to see the bill (sorry boss).

Just about finished sending everything back for the day and will head home soon.

Need a good night sleep with no pesky aussie phone calls

Back again tomorrow.

Cheers

Ray
